Course Description

This 5-day course demands a high response from trainees and places emphasis on the practical application of Tugs & Boats handling techniques to maneuver Tugs & Boats safely and with precision. Practical Tugs & Boats handling simulation exercises are conducted and followed by a thorough debriefing and analysis of each exercise.

To enhance the participants’ knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to understand and apply Tugs & Boats handling techniques to maneuver Tugs & Boats safely and with precision 
 

Course Objectives

After the completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

• Handle different types of tugs.
• Handle highly maneuverable tugs
• Aware about the effects of: fenders “towline - propeller wash interaction” radio Communication - Controllable / uncontrollable forces and varying visibility.
• Efficiently implement new tug designs, additional or new assisted ship designs or new operating areas.
• Handle and utilize the best practice in different types of boats at various circumstances.
• Knowledgeable about towing operation and towing limitations.
